At Blurple, we value balance, rest, and the personal well-being of every team member. Our approach to holidays and time off reflects our belief that recharging and spending time away from work enhances creativity, productivity, and overall happiness.
Annual Leave Policy
- Standard Leave: All team members are entitled to 25 paid days of annual leave. This is above the legal minimum to ensure you have ample time to relax and recharge.
- Accrual: Leave is accrued monthly. If you join mid-year, your leave entitlement will be prorated based on your start date.
- Carry Over: Up to 5 unused days can be carried over into the following year, but they must be used by March 31.
- First-Year Policy: New hires are entitled to 10 days of annual leave in their first year, in addition to public holidays and other leave benefits. From the second year onwards, employees start with 14 days and gradually increase to 24 days.
Public Holidays
- We recognize the public holidays specific to the country or region in which you’re based. This ensures alignment with local customs and traditions.
- For team members working across borders, please discuss with your manager to clarify your specific holiday schedule.
Additional Time Off
- Blurple Days: To foster creativity and spontaneity, we grant 2 additional days off each year, chosen by the company, for team bonding or rest.
- Birthday Leave: Enjoy a day off to celebrate your birthday – our gift to you!
- Compassionate Leave: In times of personal difficulty, such as bereavement, we provide additional leave days. Speak with HR to arrange this as needed.
- Sabbaticals: Team members who’ve been with Blurple for 5 years or more are eligible for a 1-month unpaid sabbatical to pursue personal interests, travel, or simply rest. Requests must be approved 3 months in advance.
Time Off Requests
- Requests for annual leave should be made through our HR platform, KolayıK, at least 2 weeks in advance. For shorter notice, please communicate directly with your manager.
- Managers will review requests based on team workload, ensuring fairness and minimal disruption to projects.
Flexible Holidays
At Blurple, we embrace diversity and inclusion. If you’d like to observe a holiday that isn’t part of the standard public holidays in your region, you’re welcome to request leave to honor it. Simply provide a brief notice to your manager and HR.
Wellness Days
We understand that sometimes you need a day to reset mentally and emotionally. Blurple provides 2 additional wellness days per year, which can be taken on short notice for personal care and rejuvenation.
