Redefining the EV Charging Experience with Zes

Building the digital backbone of Turkey’s most accessible EV charging network.

For EV drivers, charging isn’t just about replenishing energy — it’s about managing time, trust, and decision-making in motion. As physical access expands, the real question becomes: “How quickly and confidently can a user make the right choice?” With over 1,900 stations across 81 cities, Zes offers extensive reach. Our task was to transform that infrastructure into a seamless and intuitive digital experience. Over the course of 8 months, we set out to understand real user behavior, align it with business objectives, and reframe decision moments throughout the EV journey. Every screen, every interaction, and every word was redesigned to reduce friction and support confident use. The outcome wasn’t just a better mobile app — it was a scalable, sustainable design foundation aligned with the needs of Zes teams and users alike.

We designed a map experience that allows users to access stations quickly without distraction, filter them easily, and find exactly the type of station they need. While doing so, we customized everything down to the color tones of the map and followed accessibility standards throughout the design.

We set out to answer the question: What does a truly human-centered charging experience look like? Instead of designing merely for the customer, we approached the experience holistically—deeply understanding the end user and crafting every touchpoint with their needs in mind.

We didn’t just design an app — we built a process that could scale, adapt, and evolve. Starting with lo-fi wireframes, we rapidly prototyped flows aligned with real user goals. Each piece of interface content was written with intent — ensuring every word supported a decision. Collaboration with developers was seamless via a shared, always-updated Figma environment. The process culminated in a reusable, high-fidelity design system — crafted for clarity, speed, and consistency.
